Purchase Policy – Please Read Carefully

📍 Countries We Can Ship To (as of September 2025)

Currently, we can only ship Japanese swords to the following countries:

Australia – Import possible, but may require a weapons permit depending on state/territory regulations.
Germany – Private ownership is allowed (18+), but public carrying is restricted under German weapons law.
Canada – Import generally possible as long as the sword is not classified as a prohibited weapon.
⚠️ United States – Please note: EMS shipments containing goods to the USA are currently suspended (since August 27, 2025). Therefore, EMS cannot be used for katana shipments at this time. Alternative private couriers may be arranged on a case-by-case basis, with additional costs quoted separately.

If you wish to ship to a country not listed above, please contact us for consultation.

📦 Shipping Method

- Standard: EMS (Express Mail Service)
- Important: If EMS is unavailable for your country (e.g., USA at present), we will explore private courier options. Additional fees may apply.

💰 Shipping & Export Permit Fee
A flat fee of 40,000 JPY will be charged for shipping preparation and export permit application.

- This fee is required for all international shipments.
- It is non-refundable, even if the import is denied by local authorities.
- For shipments requiring private courier services, any extra costs will be quoted in addition to this fee.

📝 Export Permit
All Japanese swords require an official export permit from the Agency for Cultural Affairs. This process includes submission of sword registration papers and photographs, and is mandatory for every shipment.

⚠️ No Returns or Exchanges – Each Item Is One of a Kind

All swords sold on our website are unique, one-of-a-kind items.

🔺 Returns and exchanges are strictly not accepted after purchase.
🔺 Why? When exporting a Japanese sword, its Firearm and Sword Registration Certificate must be surrendered to the authorities.
🔺 Once a sword is exported, it cannot be re-imported into Japan for registration renewal.

⚠️ While returns are not accepted, we take full responsibility for ensuring the quality of each item before shipment.

Additionally, as these are historical items, we do not guarantee the authenticity of inscriptions (mei).
Please carefully review all details before making your purchase.

🚚 Shipping Risks and Insurance

We take every precaution to ensure safe packaging and shipping, but we cannot be held responsible for any incidents or issues during transit.

All shipments are insured under EMS.
✅ Compensation is available for loss or damage during shipping.
Maximum insurance coverage: Up to 2 million yen (compensation cannot exceed the purchase price).
Since all swords are unique, lost or damaged items cannot be replaced with an identical product.

🛠 About the Production Time for Koshirae (Sword Mountings)

For customers ordering custom koshirae (sword mountings):

⏳ The production of koshirae takes time. All fittings are crafted by hand by skilled artisans.
📅 We will provide an estimated delivery time based on your request, but please note that unexpected delays may occur.

⚠️ Depending on the availability of specific craftsmen (e.g., for the tsuka or saya), the production process may be significantly delayed—sometimes taking over a year.
⚠️ Please understand that we may not be able to meet exact specifications such as precise blade length or fitting measurements. Minor variations may occur due to the handmade nature of each component.

🔔 If there are any schedule changes, we will notify you as soon as possible.

📢 Final Notes

We strive to accommodate customer requests as much as possible. However, please understand that shipping availability, schedules, and koshirae production timelines may change due to external factors such as global conditions.

💬 If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
