No title

I was at the facility where Shogo and his partner, Yushin sensei, are selling the katana. I contacted Shogo beforehand and told him what kind of katana I was searching for and what my budget was.

They prepared 5 different ones. Each a beauty in itself and all at different price levels at the range of my budget. Since Shogo could provide translation from Yushin sensei he told me the story of origin of the katana I was interested in.

After I decided which katana I wanted to purchas they handled all the export bureaucracy. It took a while but it was worth it.

One of the best experiences I had in Kyoto

I had a fantastic experience at Yushinkan in 2024. I informed Shogo and Yushin Sensei about my budget and interests beforehand, and they guided me through a selection of beautiful weapons, letting me handle each to assess its handling and aesthetic qualities.

I ended up purchasing a long, tip-heavy shirasaya from the early Meiji period, which now serves as the centerpiece of my sword collection.

Shogo and Yushin handled all the bureaucratic matters related to exporting the swords from Japan. I had to wait a couple of months for it to arrive in the States, but it was entirely worth it. Highly recommended for all those interested in Japanese culture, historical weapons, and traditional martial arts.

Expert Guidance and Translation

I had a great experience purchasing a katana with Shogo. He is an exceptional translator and highly knowledgeable himself which allowed me to ask complex questions about the particular katana's history and the process of exporting from Japan. Shogo was communicative through the export process, which took a bit of time, but they handled all the paperwork and shipping.
